Improving local bus services

Buses are vital - without them, workers wouldn’t get to work, young people wouldn’t get to school and college, and some of the most vulnerable people in society would become isolated from friends and family.  Many individuals and groups have concerns about the bus services to towns and villages throughout Ayrshire.  So, Central Ayrshire MP, Dr Philippa Whitford, and Councillor Nan McFarlane, have organised a Public Meeting to discuss setting up a Bus Users’ Group on Saturday 21 November from 10am – 12 noon in the Cabin, 5 Southbeach, Troon KA10 6EF (next to Troon Library).

Representatives from Stagecoach West Scotland and Strathclyde Partnership for Transport will attend along with Councillors and Community Councillors and individual members of the public.  This is an open public meeting to gauge support for a Bus Users’ Group.  If you are unable to come for the full duration of the meeting, simply pop in or leave when it suits.

Should you know of anyone else who is interested in bus services, please invite them along.
