Plans for the Future

LCCL have commissioned Munro Architects to design proposals to redevelop the village hall. Their brief was to retain the hall’s character but also to make the hall spaces as versatile and flexible as possible, each with its own access.  Other requirements included improving the entrance; creating a larger kitchen that would be able to cater for modest functions, with easier access to the halls; improving the toilet facilities; managing storage better and providing an office or small committee room.

Architects Plans

Munro’s initial plan was put on public display at the end of April 2012 until the Gala at the beginning of June. People who viewed the plans at the hall and Gala were encouraged to complete a feedback form.  The vast majority of comments were positive.  Munro’s commission was extended in January 2013 to secure Planning Permission and in 2014, after further consultation, to investigate the potential for an additional multi-purpose space that could also serve as a café.  A new Planning Application will be lodged in 2015.
